Another HyperVen success story

Hey everyone, after 4 months of practice and so many changes, I would very much like to share another success story of HyperVen with you. It all started a year ago. Actually earlier, but from May 2006 I was officially a hyperventilating person. I had one hyperventilation attack after the other, both publicly and at home. I did not know what was happening to me. Did I go crazy? What is going on with my body?

The fear caused the panic attacks

I started to feel more and more agitated. To the point where I did not go outside anymore

The hyperventilation attacks really terrified me. I started to feel more and more agitated. To the point where I did not go outside anymore. I even remember that there were times I could not get out of my bed. Because of the fear and the weird feelings in my body. It was the fear that drove the panic attacks.

I always thought it was all psychological: not so

I tried several therapies. And in the second therapy I discovered: I have chronic hyperventilation. My respiration rate was 23 times per minute in a resting position. That is way too much. So it was clear to me. I always thought that it was all psychological: not so. That respiratory therapy did not really help me. Symptoms got worse (which happens in many therapies) and they disappeared. But they never completely disappeared. And sometimes when they returned, they were a bit worse.

I was soon approached by someone from HyperVen

Especially the dizzy feeling turned out to be something that I had to learn to live with. Of course I did not want that. I wanted to live like everyone else. And I could not do that with those symptoms. I had regularly visited the HyperVen website. But I was always skeptical about it. I therefore spoke out my doubts on the user forum. Soon I was approached by someone from the HyperVen organization.

I really took HyperVen seriously

In January I was certain of it: I will giver it a go. I think HyperVen therapy is not expensive compared to what I spent on other therapies! So I practiced twice a day without exception. I took it really seriously and I still do that, as I practice now. So in the past few months I’ve only been doing HyperVen. No school, no work, as little stress as possible. Only at home and doing HyperVen.

Gradually I started to feel better.

In the beginning it was really heavy. Sometimes it did nothing. And sometimes my scores just jumped up. The confidence in my body was completely gone. So I stayed indoors most of the time. Very slowly – I mean it took about 2 or 3 months or so – the symptoms started to disappear.Gradually I started to feel better. Although I was still reluctant to believe it…

Now, after practicing for a little more than 4 months, I feel so much better! The dizziness has almost disappeared. Other symptoms too. There are things that I have to pay attention to. Such as my sugar intake and sleeping enough. My agoraphobia: I work on that. I now have new behavioral therapy and that feels actually quite good.

  • I am no longer indoors the whole day
  • 3 times a day I walk the dog (sometimes 2 times because of the fear)
  • Make small trips with the motorbike and my friend
  • I walk occasionally
  • Visit my family
  • Go to therapy

AND ALL THESE THINGS WERE NOT POSSIBLE 4 MONTHS AGO! I can’t say it enough: persevere, twice a day. It is soooo worth it!

Greetings,
Shannon
