What is the effect if one stops practicing for a while?


Every time when you have changed the setting of the respiratory center, it will try to maintain that setting. That is a safety precaution that is built into the system (fortunately!)

So do not worry "loosing" what you have gained, if you need to stop dong the therapy for a while. Simply start again after the interruption. Many people are afraid to interrupt the therapy, afraid of falling back. Illness, flue, headache or other things can call for the need to stop doing the therapy for a while. That is not a problem. The respiratory center will maintain what we have gained, and falling back is not a real danger.
